PAIN-ter hill & OOF

The weather forecast for the rest of the week was looking pretty dismal and given other commitments I new I wouldn't even be able to get a bike commute in this week so I decided to try a bigger ride to Ovens of France.

I left my house at 5:20 AM and headed down to Sandy Hook to meet up with Steven and Paul. It was so foggy that my glasses fogged up and I had to ride without them because otherwise I couldn't see anything.

Unlike our normal route to OOF in which we ascend the backside of Sprucebrook Hill this route goes up by Topland Farms and Painter Hill.  This hill caps out at a little over 1000 feet in elevation and its a worthy climb.

The fog made it so humid that we were sweating profusely but there was still a chill in the air that made descents really cold.

A Ham & Cheese Croissant at Ovens of France and a cup of French Road coffee never disappoints!

I brought a small backpack with me to carry some treats back to take to the office.
They were a big hit!
