Riding the Bloomin Metric, Fixed!

I usually ride the Bloomin Metric each year with my son Elliot on our Burley Tandem but this year it was raining a bit chillier than normal and Elliot bailed.  I quickly switched bikes and went to the Paramount.  The 25 mile course (40K) has some climbing but nothing insane that I couldn't handle with my gearing.  In fact, I rode the course on my Bianchi SSer a few years ago and it was quite fun.

A stem at half mast feels right

Shawn at the Bicycle Center is a magician!  I showed him the unhappy stem and we talked numbers, and came up with a replacement from Origin 8!

Farmer's Daughter Gravel Grinder

After much anticipation it was time for the Farmer's Daughter Gravel Grinder.  I had been wanting to do this ride last year when it first started but I had been busy and couldn't do it but this time was perfect.  Staying at Will's country home next door in Spencertown, NY was key and the warm ride the prior day set the expectations high for this ride.

3 States of Gravel

With the Farmer's Daughter Gravel Grinder on Sunday, Will and I decided to meet in Copake Falls for a little tour gravel tour of New York, Western Mass, and NW Connecticut.  Starting at the Rail Trail parking lot we headed over to Sunset Rock, which I think is one of the toughest climbs in the area and hit it with fresh legs.
